Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Taper: JPM DAT clone provided by: Y.P. Transfer by Joel C. mastered by gvid Source: AUD -> Aiwa CM-T7 -> Sony TCD-D8 -> DAT master -> DAT clone to Y.P. Lineage pt. 1: DAT clone -> Sony TCD-D100 -> S/PDIF -> Tascam DA-30 @ 32 kHz -> DAT -> mail from Y.P. to Joel C. -> the waiting game... Lineage pt. 2: DAT recieved by Joel C. -> Tascam DA-20 MKII (digital out) -> RCA > Avid MBOX 3 (s/pdif in) -> Adobe Audition WAV (16 bit, 32 kHz) -> trim silence at beginning and end -> resample to 44.1 kHz for CD burning -> split tracks -> FLAC 16/44 Lineage part 3: FLAC > Adobe Audition (lots of EQ, dynamic EQ on the super loud glockenspiel hits, multiband compression, stereo adjustments, editing the waveform to reduce/fix the cello mic blowing out, short fades at the start and end, normalisation) > WAV (16/44) > FLAC (level 8) Notes: really cool show. Only known performance of Sad Mafioso between Oct. '99 and Nov. '00 (and it's a ferocious one). Storm has a very drum-heavy improvisation in the middle. Small cut at the end of BBF3, during the encore break. Sad Maf starts with the DFB drone and auctioneer sample. The raw transfer of this show was quite mid-heavy and not pleasant to listen to, this remaster aims to fix that.
